  Can someone help me with a question on the M1 Carbine Paratrooper. Witch ones are worth the most? How can I tell what I have by looking at the gun. Thanks for any help.

  In nearly every case I've come across the bolt assembly for the Universal Brand Carbines are not interchangable with the GI Carbines. The internal bolt components such as the extractor, ejector and the springs are the same however. I have heard that early Universals used surplus GI carbine parts so those carbines could use a surplus GI bolt. My opinion is that the Universal took a rather simple design and made it very complicated- ever taken a Universal apart compared to a GI Carbine? The Universal is a nightmare by comparison...those two operating springs fitting into those blind holes just kill me!
