Age of model 12 Winchester

I just purchased a model 12 Winchester. 12 gage take down with 30 inch full choke barrel. I would like to know when it was made. The serial number is 1453XXX

  I have a book that can give the date but I cant find it! ARRGGGG!
  Mine was bought back in the early to mid 50's if that helps

  Hi,according to my info,your Model 12 was made in 1954.

  Tools-If you go to www.oldguns.net , using the menu left of the screen, you can just type in the serial # & it will give you date of Mfg.Dan
