How would you rate the fit finish and quality, accuracy of a Howa 1500 in blue or SS in Synthetic verses a Savage Weather Warrior or a Winchester mod. 70 sporter in syn/ss. in same barrel lengths in 30-06Are these guns made under license from Weatherby or a knock off. Are the bolt handles on piece or silver soder on.thanks for the help

Interestingly this question comes up every month or so. Howa's are not well known, but they are well made in Japan. The Weatherby Vanguard was built by Howa for a while and the Howa 1500 has been the basis of other rifles, most recently Marlin if memeroy serves. It is a decent rifle for the price and should give good service and reasonable accuracy.

In case you are interested, it can be bought as a barreled action and bedded on the stock of your choice. I bedded a 1500 action in .308 on a Boyds JRS Classic laminate stock, which I believe is the laminate now used by Howa.

HE DOG is right on the money. S&W as well as Mossberg sold rifles produced by Howa. I have two. A S&W in .243 and a Mossberg in .300 Win. mag. they both group under 1" at 100 yards with factory ammo. My 2 cents.

    STAY SAFE
