I just finished sporterizing an m44.bent bolt, barrel cut to 16.5 inches, synthetic stock. Can anyone enlighten me on a good scope mount for this rig? I'm told the b-square setup is fragile, but how about the russian mount? It looks ridiculously high ... 0 -
As I recall, Weaver used to make a side mount for the Nagant as well as several other rifles. I currently have one on my Mossberg 44. The side mount has the advantage of not interfering with the receiver bridge, and can also be installed with some left offset to aid in loading and ejection.
Try a "Mom & Pop" type of gunshop where they would remember or may even have what you need.
Have fun, be careful.

i have two nagants with the smith enterprise mount , tried the weaver side mount its not near as good as the smith mount , to properly shoot the side mount weaver you had to cant the rifle to get the center of the scope over the bore otherwise you can only have the gun regulated to one distance 0 -
Rusty,I haven't heard of that scope mount.Where can I check it out?My local rifle shop is unfamiliar with that setup also.Is there a web site for the manufacturer? thanks for the heads up.[:D] 0
