AR-15 GREEN MAGAZINE FOLLOWER

How do I replace the black follower in a AR-15 magazine. I would like to replace them with green followers. I know there is a way that I can do this without bending the magazine tabs at the bottom of the magazine out. I fear that bending these tabs will cause them to break off.[?]

  Break 'em? Don't pry that hard, just flex it a little and slide the base plate off. Easier than a sorority girl[^]

  Use a short rod 5/32 to 3/16" diameter, stick it about 1/4" in the baseplate hole, pry gently down which will spring the tab upward and slide the baseplate off. The green followers will take a bit bore jiggling to install but dont force anything.

  Do not bend the tabs. On the base of the mag. is a slot and a hole in front of it, stick a small screwdriver, or punch, in the hole and disengage the lock tab, slide the base toward the rear of the mag. (carefully). While you have it apart clean the mag. body.
