Plinking Ammo

I have an AR-15 that I would like to buy some plinking ammo for. I reload but i was wondering if wolf or something like it would be ok to shoot through this Bushmaster.

  I have been looking for some good cheap plinking ammo. The calibers I am looking for are: 7.62x39, .223 Remington, and 9x19. I have heard some bad things about Wolf and was curious what everyone had to say. I have been looking at some Silver Bear ammo and would like some feedback. Is there a specific manufacturer one should avoid or lean towards. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Basically same type of ammo. Both made in Russia.

  Both of those are Russian made---made for commercial, cheap use. They are OK for what they are, but not of great quality. I would recommend, in those same calibers, military ammo. Preferably from the west, but even the others. Remember, no nation willingly supplies their military with inadequate ammo. It may not be as accurate as you wish; It may be corrosive, but it will be dependable, full power and at least reasonably accurate.

  I shoot a ak-47 a lot and wolf is about the same as everything else. to me i dont see much difference it any of the brands. They are all about the same but do not get any corrosive ammo. it can ruin a gun fast.

  I can only speak for the silver bear in 9mm. I ran a box of the 145 grain hollowpoint through my P 11. It worked just fine, I was very pleased! The regular Wolf 9mm with the painted steel case caused numerous jams in the same pistol. The Silver Bear is also quite inexpensive for being H-P ammo. I believe it cost about $6.50 a box.

  I've used both the Wolf & Silver Bear ammo for 223 & 7.62x39, I'd reccomend both. No problems with either in my SKS or Rock River AR. Didn't much care for their pistol ammo, wolf 45acp jammed in both my USP & my 1911.

  I try to avoid remington, but thats just me. Most people like it, It just doesint like my guns.

  i have had trouble with the wolf hollow points but the fmj's shoot well i shoot an ar15 223 ak47 223 ak47 223 my mini 14 shoots them the best. (accurately)
