SASS Rifle

To any SASS participants:

I have limited my choice of rifles to the Marlin lever actions in either 44 or 45LC. I will be using Laser Cast bullets, and I wonder if there would be any significant advantage in buying a rifle with the Ballard rifling as opposed to the Microgroove seeing how hard the Laser Cast bullets are.

Also any experience with 44 specials in the Marlin 44 magnums?

Also, I was thinking of getting the stainless steel version and 'aging'it to make it look older as if most of the bluing had worn off. Is this allowed?

Nothing in the rules says anything about the finish, and I have two SS Ruger Vaqueros.
