Striker Peepsight

I wish to put a peepsight on a Mosin Nagant striker. Are these available on the market? If not does anyone know how to make one?

At one time these sights were available from the Lyman Gun Sight Co. There were three types of sight offered, the No.1A, the No.2A and the No.103. Unfortunately these sights were drooped from the line in 1955. These sights are now collector items and if you find one you will have to pay collector prices. You don't often see them for sale anymore but the last ones that I have seen started at $75.00 for one that was pretty beat up to $300.00 for one new in the box. I don't really think that it would be cost effective to make one unless you are a tool and die maker with time on your hands. The end of the cocking knob will have to be milled with a dovetail and that is the easy part. The body would have to be made of mild steel and then drilled and tapped for the eye piece stem. The back of the body would have to be dovetailed for the windage piece and then drilled and tapped for the windage screw. You would have to be able to cut threads as fine as 120 threads to the inch. It would certainly be possible to make one,but if you had to have it made not practical.
