    You're going to get a lot of blast and flash with any 223 load in a 7.5 inch barrel. Milspec ammo will have a flash retardant powder which will help the flash, but to get some sort of "efficiency" out of a 7.5" you'd have to get a 22LR conversion kit[:D] Enjoy the fireballs and don't worry about it.

    boeboe.... I have one of the carbon 15's also. I initially had some problems with it. The bolt broke in two where the cam pin hole is, they replaced it. I reload and basically duplicate the military loads, and also use Hogden H335.
    If you load using the books suggested starting load it will help to reduce muzzle blast. You might also go a little under the starting load, but it will then begin to have functioning problems due to too little pressure. Keep in mind, anytime you shoot .223 from a very short barrel like the carbon 15's, you are going to have a good amount of flame and blast.
