In that price range I would say Tasco,BSA or Bushnell not in any order. Best of luck.

I have a BSA 3x9 Deerhunter on a 597 and it suits the rifle fine. I just mounted a Bushnell on a mini 14 for a guy and it works fine. Either of them you can get for under 45.00 a lot of places. When the BSA's first came out I put about 5 of them on different guns from 22-257 Roberts for people and they all have been good for them. Hope that helps! GHD

For the distance you will be shooting with a 22 i agree a 4x is all you need. One of the 4x tascos like a silver antler or pronghorn work very well and are very inexpensive.I have a 4x silver antler on mine for about 6 years now.Never needed more power and never had a problem.

A pronghorn is great in the 3x9. AMine is zeroed and the only time i change it is to shoot farther or closer. It shoots great.

I have a 10/22 and rebel is right about the pronghorn. It is a good scope for the price. I used a tasco on it and it was a tack driver.

BSA makes a four power with rings included for the .22 retail less than $40.00. They seem to work fairly well.

I put a BSA Deerhunter 4X32 on my kids 22. Cost $32.95 at the local gun shop. Great scope for that money, and you won't need anything more than 4X plinking with a 22lr.

I have not used them but a friend at works uses a Tasco pronghorn and says it works fine. There is one for sale on ebay Cheap!!! Item number 1986069679 and it should work good for what you want to spend.

I would buy the Bushnell Banner 4x rimfire scope. I believe I have 4 of them on various 22 rifles. It has been around for years and has always been a good choice for normal sporting 22 rifles.
