Best Defensive 9mm Ammo 4 Short Barrell?

I purchased a Tauras 9mm 5 shot revolver with a 2 in barrell. When (and if) KS ever gets a CCWS law, I might want to carry it. But I know that the 9MM is a little weak on stopping power, especially in a short barrell. Does anyone know of any good speciality rounds that can provide good stopping power?

Of course I have some name brand +P hollow points but I fear they won't expand in the short barrell. I purchased some of the Agulia 9mm IQ 65 grain BIG hollow point named "the first intelligent bullet" as the bulleet is not lead or copper but some special metal created by Aguila. It is supposed to expand or not based upon what kind of material it is fired into. Plywood for example caused the bullet to not expand at all in order for maximum penetration. But when fired into ballistic geletin, it expands tremendously. Anybody got any independent tests on this round.

Or suggestions for another type of round?

    Hi, Mr. Fox:

    (1) Beware of anything that comes from "south of the border". The north side isn't too good either.

    (2) I'm shocked that this thread doesn't already have a dozen replies. Honored to be the first. Your 9mm is not your Grandfather's 9mm. Great improvements have been made in the 9mm in the last 5 years, and it is no longer a poor stopper with the right bullets. My choice would be new 147 gr. weight in a Speer Gold Dot.

    ive always rooted for the underdog, I've heard good things about the Aguila IQ rounds. Only from people shooting them out of larger automatics. They are supposed to perform very close to 230gr 45hardballs which make them interesting and not to mention their penetration/expansive properties. If you take some out to the range, I'm sure there are a few of us who would be interested to hear how they perform from a small barrel.

    I second DG with the 147gr speer, and I would also recommend Cor-bon 135gr 1450fps. That'll bring em to their knees.[:D]

    As far as the Aguila ammo, Check your other thread, I left you some info.

    i like strike 3. it is 3 - 30 grain balls with a plastic tip. it is like buck shot. 3 inch spread at 25 feet.

    first rule of northern militia is that we don't talk about northern militia.
