SKS bolt spring installation

Does it matter which way the bolt return spring is installed? I noticed there is a spring keeper on one end and a flat spring base on the other, the spring has a telescoping guide rod inside of it.

  i'm not sure off the top of my head but if you go to http://www.surplusrifle.com/index.asp they have the answer there. There is an sks forum. Try searching for sks board. best of luck.

  Im pretty sure the flat end goes in first.

  One end is all bunched up and squiggly.
  That is the end that goes in first.
