NAZI 22 conversion-98K mauser?ERMA?

I have what appears to be a .22 conversion outfit for a German 98K mauser. I was told it was made by ERMA in late 1930's. It is a barreled receiver complete with its own bolt.It is covered with nazt waffamempts[sp] Take a 98K[8MM] mauser and remove the bolt..then insert the conversion unit,barrel and all,from the rearof the 98K. It locks into place where the 98K bolt was removed. The .22 conversion barrel is the same length as the original 98K barrel. The conversion receiver extends some from the 98K receiver. Then the rifle can be used as .22 rimfire SINGLE SHOT. Any and all information on this will be greatly appreciated.

    Sounds to me like you have pretty much all information needed for the outfit.They were made prior to WW II,Mine is marked 1937.Two types were made,single shot and repeater models.The repeater has it's own floor plate with magazine.They were made for training purposes.Most came in their own fitted box . Germany also made other 22 conversions but nothing else with the long barrel. I fell into one that was incomplete as far as the fitted box,floor plate and magazine. Several years passed before I could complete it.Marked 1937, it fits into my 1937 K98k Mauser.Also have ammo, cartridge pouches,bayonet,scabbard,sling,cleaning kit with the 1937 date.All in a suitcase type hard case.I have a weakness for 1937 items as that is my birth year.If your action has a solid bottom,it is for a single shot,however if it is open,it was made for a repeater.Good luck.

    Thanks MODOC..Much appreciated info!! Per your info, my unit must be the repeater type since it has an opening on bottom of receiver. I have a k98 mauser. The conversion unit locks up nice in the mauser, but I was wondering about the single shot/repeater deal.. you said yours had floorplate and mag, so now I can see how it might work as a repeater..Where in the world would I start to look for a floorplate/mag for my conversion unit??? I do not see a date ,but it has nine or ten droopwing eagles WaA5 and E.L.24...4 digit serial# 35xx with "a" below the ser. number..I would love to find the parts to complete my unit ..     I got to thinking about the Erma "22" Conversion I have. So I started doing a little searching. Fortunately I stumbleded on your post at

    I have the repeater model, in wooden case complete with floor plate, clip & locking tool.

    I acquired it back in 1949, I collected guns at that time.

    I have, among others, a 1930 Belgium K98. I have installed the conversion unit and fired it in that weapon prior to 1960.

    It resides safely in it's wooden case up on a shelf.

    Both conversion kits, the single and the mag, were made by Erma. I have one of each and they both work well. Raises some eyebrows when seen loading a K98 with .22s.
