    I'm not sure about the grooved receiver, but if you can find 30mm rings, aren't there inserts to downsize the rings to 26mm? I'm using inserts now to mount a 1" scope in 30mm rings.

    If you can't find the right rings or inserts, I would use steel shim tape. You can get it in thickness ranging from .005 to .050. It should work just fine. You should be able to find it at a hardware store or industrial supply store.Good luck!
