Winchester model 1892 SRC button mag
Hi, I have purchased a Winchester model 1892 saddle ring carbine, shotgun butt, button mag. in 44-40 cal.953,000 ser. range. I am on vacation and don't have access to my books. How many of these guns were made. Rifle is correct in all aspects. screws haven't even been turned. thanx for your help.Fred

There is no accurate way to know how many were made in that configuration. Unfortunately, all of the original factory records for serial numbers above 379,999 were accidently destroyed many years ago, and nobody (that I am aware of) had conducted a detailed survey prior to that event. Based on what I have observed in the past 30 years or so, what you have is a rare configuration, but it is not a one-of-a-kind.
