Get your self one of Uncle Buds bull bags, and fill it with sand and your in business......
Unless you need one of the adjustable metal ones, then check the auctions or Sinclair. There are a bunch of them out there.

The uncle buds is a bag that I ALWAYS have in the truck!! There is NO SUCH THING as a mechanical benchrest that will work for pistols in the strict sense of the term. There are front rests with different bags for each,..but the uncle buds requires no changing of tops[8D]
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

I also keep my Buds Bull bag close at hand cause you never know when I might have to slip one of my many XP100's into it.
I ALSO USE A SINCLAIR MECHANICAL REST WITH MY XP'S AND TC'S
I only have a few revolvers and I'm sure the barrel cylinder gap would soon eat a hole in the bull bag....

Hello there is a very good machine rest for testing pistols but the price is much higher than your price range. It is called a ransom rest and setup is usually on a concreat and steel post/stand. If you have a pistol that I have grip adapter for and live within $60.00 of gas from me we can set up a test sesion at my range. quote:"praise the had ball gun" 0 -
perry shooter, I'm outside of Pittsburgh PA. How close is that? Jeronimo. 0 -
It will be a stretch I live in Va. off of I 64. Go to the NRA site and see if there are any BULLS-EYE matches near you If there is anyone serious about Bulls-eye shooting they should have a Ransom Rest and be willing to help. What pistol are you wanting to test? 0 -
Benchrest is rifle oriented,..ransom rest is pistol oriented.
My Bald eagle rest WILL rest a pistol,..but it is far from the correct way. If you are a dedicated pistol shooter,..go with a ransom (best of the best). If you are a shooter of both rifle and pistol,..get one of each. I have tried the pistols on the BENCHREST I have,..but have found a stack of sandbags or the uncle buds to work better. The uncle buds bag turned sideways makes for no muzzle blast damage to the bag as the muzzle will be past the bag. My 50AE has not even stained my bull bag after MANY rounds. Another hint is to set it high ehough so that a bag can be placed under the grip of the pistol. That will keep the pistol from "rocking" back under recoil and scarring the magazine or the bottom of the grip on a wheel gun. Learned that the hard way.[8]
