T Barker 12 Gague Shotgun
I have a 12 Gage T Barker shotgun in very good shape, how can I find out how much it is worth? I want to sell it and I do not know it's value.

Welcome to the forum, and hope your holidays are going well. We will need a fair bit more info and if at all possible, some good digital images to help us out here. I have no refernces with me at the moment, but would assume this to be one of the dizzying variety of renamed Belgian made shotguns that came into this country at or around the turn of the Century. It could also be a prized specimen of the American made custom guns turned out by many gunsmiths around the country (particularly the Northeast). Without more info, we can't tell you too much. We need to know if there is an overall condition percentage you would ascribe to it, single/double triggers, damascus barrels, the exact barrel legend, length of the barrels, case colors, blue, engraved, checkered wood, type of wood, type of butt-plate,..you get the picture. There are so many variables to this stuff you wouldn't believe it! This is a great incentive to do the picture thing as it is nearly impossible to be as descriptive as digital pics. Please post back with any more input you can add.
Best Regards,
Bill

Hello open the action and remove the barrels and see if you see any proof marks I think you have what is a Belgium trade gun and not worth much .it was a play on words name that sounded like "PARKER" 0 -
See the ELG proofs... It's a Belgian trade gun. Value seldom exceeds $200.00 as the gun really is no longer a gun. Unsafe to shoot with modern nitro loads, perhaps unsafe with any load.
You have a good wallhanger.

BARKER.T Trade name of shotguns made by CRESCENT Fire Arms Company, and also shotguns made in Belguim and imported by H & D Folsom Company...Hammer and Hammerless made, also made with Steel or Damascus Barrels...Value depends upon just what you acually have...?
$150.00 to $250.00....Maybe...?

More than likely this is one of the Belgian guns. "T. Barker"s were listed in the Spring 1902 Sears Catalog on page 303 for $10.90 and $11.40.
The name is a clever merging of "Baker" (Baker Gun & Forging Co., Batavia, NY) and "Parker" (Parker Brothers, Meriden, CT)0 -
All of my wood is intact and solid, the gun has two hammers and two triggers. One trigger is a hair trigger but all of the parts are there and working.
