I got what I wanted for Xmas, now what?
Anyone have a solid, proven method to break in a firearm (Rem. 30-06)? I want to do it right the first time!

Clean the bore, locking lugs and bolt ways thourghly. Lube the bolt ways and bolt lugs (grease).
Keep your rate of fire slow (feel just ahead of the chamber area after each shot, with your wrist. If you can't leave your wrist on it for 30 sec it's to hot).
Every one has there own methiod, but the above portion is what everyone seems to agree on.
Try a search for "barrel break-in"
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0
