The 1187 is an updated version of the 1100. Sounds like a good value for the price. A lot of parts are available and different barrels make this a very versatile gun that can be used for all type of birds including Goose, plus any sporting games. If I had only one shotgun (which I could never do just on principal)it would be the 1187. There are better auto shotguns, but this is hard to beat due to the above comments.

Thats a very good price cheapest I've seen them is around 500.00. I own one I shoot skeet and take fesant and grouse hunting all the time and I've really been impressed with it. Probley shot more than 500 rounds through it and never had any trouble you will realy like it.

An 1187 for under $400 is a steal especially if it's brand new. I assume that it is a 12 gauge? I learned to shoot with an 1100 and I agree, it is probably the best all around automatic shotgun made. I am not crazy about english stocks, but if I found a deal like this I would jump on it regardless. I don't think I have seen the 1187 for under $500. Buy the gun and if you don't like it, I guarantee that you could resale the gun and get your money out of it, if not a littel more.

Great deal congrats. I personally like the straight stock for a field gun.

11-87 Upland Special is 23" barrel w/twin beads, Straight grip (as bobski stated), chambered for 3" shells, choke tubes. Came on the market in about 2000. Excellent condition is $550.

I had assumed that the buyer knew that this had a str. grip. If you don't like the stock, it could be changed out, and $385 would still be a great buy.

    best of luck
