I have been toying with the idea of a Sharps rifle for a few years. Don't know squatt about values, good deals or bad deals. Tell me what you think of this one and the "price"

    Thanks experts.

Plains, That's a clean one! I think the owner is a fool shooting modern ammo in it though. One, it's a percussion conversion, two, modern loads have a bullet sized .457 and the Sharps are sized .451-.452 and were made for lead, not jacketed slugs. The starting bid would be a steal!, I would be curious to see what his reserve is!

Cowdoc, The Meacham conversion will have that extra block of metal under the hammer like the one in in the pic. If your Grandpa's has a half round bbl that brings the price up. So does double triggers and long range or target sights. You need to get some pics of that one to me, serial# too! I'll have to find the addy and phone# of the doc in Miss. that has all the surviving Sharps records. He will send you a copy of the records(like where, when, and who it was shipped too)for about $45.

Plains, that Meacham could bring an easy $4K-$8K!
