ICONOCLAST: 10.75X54R cartridge???
TEAK,
we have a customer who collects double rifles who is looking for someone to load him some ammo, and research the specs on the following:
10.75X54R
i am unfamilier with this cartridge...
we have data on or dies for:
10.7X57R KRAG-PETERSON
10.75X57 MANNLICHER
10.75X58R RUSSIAN BERDAN
10.75X63 MAUSER
10.75X65R COLLATH
10.75X68 MAUSER
but not anything that seems to relate to this wanted cartridge...
i called 4 suppliers including BUFFALO ARMS and nobodys heard of it...
any clues???
ever heard of it???
i asked for a chamber casting and some loaded rounds or empty cases to inspect, but i thought you might know what this is...
best regards, mike.

Mike, not a clue! I'm real light on references to metric sporting rounds, but it isn't in anything I have, nor do I have any entries on sales of collector specimens in my database.

Just guessing, but it might be a oddball/wildcat based on the 7.62x54R Russian case, iirc there are several Finn'ish 'cats based on that brass.

I am an amatuer cartridge collector and have a small reference library.
I searched my books and could not find the cartridge you described. I checked Cartridges of the World, 10th addition, and Cartridges for Collectors by Datig, Volumes 1, 2, and 3.
This must be a real oddball chambering.
Good luck!

Search online for the REME Museum.
I thought they had some info on "weird" old calibers
Don't remember for sure if it will help.

the guy claims he has no cases, or heads, or loaded rounds. he has no dies, specs, data, etc...
he says that the gun is marked 10.74X54R and that its a vintage double rifle...
i have restated my request for a chamber casting and pics...
i do feel a whole lot better knowing you guys came up empty as well.
best regards, mike.

Mr. Mike,
My SWAG (scientific, wild azz guess) calculation tells me the 10.75x54r designation is verrrry close to 444 Marlin in euro terms.
