I purchased a 20ga. today. It needs a little restoration to make it a respectable quail gun. However when I got home with her, I thought I knew how to break the gun down(it is a take down model). Igot it apart but can't seem to get her back togather! Can someone help? Does the bolt need to be forward as in closed?[:(] 0 -
According to Arms Collectors, it was manufactured in 1924. However,my understanding from some of the better informed members here is that there are lots of inaccuracies in some of the dating sites. At least that willo give you some idea until Bert shows up.

Hello hofloyt, welcome to the forum. According to Dave Riffle, author of the "Greatest Hamerless Repeating Shotgun Ever built" it was made in 1925. you should know that when this gun was built it originally had a 2&1/2 inch chamber. Winchester didn't swith to 2&3/4 until 1927. So if it's not stamped 2&3/4 on the barrel or by the serial number ASSUME that it is still a short chamber. Have it checked by a good gunsmith. (Most gunsmiths and or Winchester would stamp 2&3/4 if they opened of the chamber and ejection port). Regards Dave 0
