Springfield M1A stock
I bought one of Springfields M1A synthetic stocks before hearing about how easily the paint is chipped off with use. Has anybody tried using a few layers of clear coat or any other remedy that might salvage this stock? I'm thinking I should just sell it. Thanks.

sutterrrog, i have one, and in some spots it wears out, not chips, but its not very noticable, its in the magazine catch, and inside the triggerframe part, but even though the paint wears out, the stock is still undestructable. its not going to get any more damaged if the paint wears out because its still synthetic. I think that they are a LOT better then those wooden stocks, and you should keep yours, or if your rich then get a McMillan. 0 -
I have one of those and I just touch mine up with flat black enamel. 0 -
Thanks for the first hand knowledge, sounds like the stock is better than I thought. I'm going to give it a try. 0
