synthetic/composite stock for Howa 1500

Can anyone recommend a good synthetic/composite stock for a short action Howa 1500 (or a Weatherby Vangard)? I want to replace the "polymer" stock that it came with. Something decent but that won't cost a fortune. I would also like to fit it with a Limbsavr recoil pad and want to use one of the pre-fit ones. I really don't want to mess with the grind-to-fit versions. Thanks.

    Check with Brownells 800-741-0015, I think they have some from Bell and Carlson which will fit the Howe/Vanguard. Should run around $160. They come with a nice recoil pad on them.

    check out Boydsboys.com i think the web addy is.....they make some nice stocks infact some of the Howa rifles with the wood stocks thunb hole and ect are made by them. they are in Mitchell, S.D.

    opps sorry you are looking for syn stocks they make wood ones

    Actually I'm glad you mentioned Boyds. My brother in law needs a new stock for his Savage and wood will do nicely. Thanks.
