Riverside Arms

I have an old riverside arms double barrel 12ga shotgun missing the forend. Does anyone have any idea where I could find one? Is riverside made by another company and maybe a different brand forend would fit?.....Please help......Thanks

    Info on Grandfather's 12g Riverside Arms shotgun? Pump, A5 humpback look, 30" bararel, 56xxx serial number, est pre WW II. Steven's I assume? What else can you tell me?

    From your description it's probably a Stevens Model 520. It was designed by John Browning in the early 20th Century. They were produced as late as W W II, ( Trench & Riot Guns ).

    Most notable feature was the "Hole" in the top of the receiver, where the bolt locked up, when the gun was put into battery.

    Sounds right, it has the hole in top. Any way to date the gun? My reference catalog doesn't address the gun, suggestions on finding out more about this model?

    Unfortunately there's litle collectors interest/demand/value in the Stevens repeating shotguns. Pre WW II as per your original post, is probably in the ballpark? Most of the Stevens literature is focused on their rifles and handguns which have a substantial collectors following. You might try locating this one, "Savage & Stevens Arms Collectors History" by J. Kimmel.
