Old Savage .32 question
Is the clip suppose to "Spring" out when lever is pushed? If so any ideas of what it would take to repair?

What model is the rifle? Do you have to wiggle it out or does it just pop out a bit and you have to withdraw it?
My knowledge of those rifles is very limited, but as I recall from using my grandfather's (way back when) ... it was not a drop free mag. But to be honest about it ... after all of these years I'm not even 100% sure that it was a 32. I recall it was a Model 23, but I know he had a couple rifles in 25-20 and a couple in 32-20 and I can't recall which mfg. and model was which.
Hopefully one of the other members with much more experience on these rifles will come along. But it would probably be good if you clarified the model and what the mag. is currently doing when you operate the release.

I guess I should have stated it is a pistol. It has no visible means of breakdown! 0 -
I'm looking at an exploded view of a 1910 Savage. I'm not sure the Mag Springs out as you put it.
To take it down
remove mag
clear chamber
pull back slide and put safety catch on
grab cocking lever and breech plug between thumb and fore fingure
pull back on cocking lever and turn breech plug clockwise 1/4turn at the same time
pull trigger and release safty and slide should come off
grips are push off by inserting fingures inside and pushing out
of course I assuming this is the model you have

The magazine on mine just drops out. To take down the pistol, remove magazine and clear chamber, pull back slide and put on safety. Squeeze the cocking lever (hammer) and breechplug and rotate 1/4 turn to right. Pull assembly from slide, hold back trigger and release safety. Slide will remove to front of frame. Emery
