XTR finish has bubble

I have a Winchester XTR that has a couple of "air bubbles" . Any ideas on how to repair this minor problem?

  The rifle is a 1982 m70 Featherweight. It has 3 or 4 1/8" bubbles right on top of stock. I don't kow how to get rid of them without redoing the whole stock or possibly nicking the wood picking at them.
