It's not a muzzle brake, it's a grenade launcher. Removing it won't make any different as far as noise goes. Follow the link for detailed instructions:

    http://www.surplusrifle.com/sks/grenadesightremoval/hs.asp

I recommend against doing any of this, though. The barrel threads will show, the cut parts of the grenade launcher sight will have an unfinished look, & the rifle will stay weigh too much. And, it will no longer be considered a C&R.

But, it's your rifle; do what you want.

I may have the muzzle brake confused with the grenade Launcher, What I would like to remove is the flash suppressor/brake?????? Similar to picture/figure # 9 on your link. Look's like a pin may be holding it in place. I looking for more noise and big flash. Any suggestions?
    Thanks1

Take a pin punch and drive out the pin. Clamp the rifle into your bench vise. Wrap the grenade launcher with thick cloth or thin leather, if you want to prevent tool marks. Use a pipe wrench or large vise grips to turn off the launcher. If it doesn't budge, try heating it up with a propane torch to loosen it. The threads are still useful with a muzzle brake, if you want to install one. Try these:

Other than that, I would have the muzzle recrowned. Noise and flash aren't gonna be changed much no matter what you do.

Not trying to offend anyone, just help out...
I admit I didnt read it all that carefully, but I think the link above shows removal of the grenade launcher SIGHT, not the launcher itself.
If what you want is removal of the launcher, try:

If you cant get to these, basically you drive out the pin on the underside of the launcher, and twist off 'lefty loosey' as the thread is 14-1 RH. The devil is in the details of course, as it can be super tight, frozen on with rust, cosmoline, or super-double-secret-cold-war-glue. The various posts go through a few troubleshootign spots that people have had to deal with. Hope this helps!
    Merry Christmas,
