Hello Steve anything you put in a 45 acp that will work the slide IMHO is a "KICK ASS" protection unless you are shooting at dangerous game BROWN BEAR ,LION etc. What is more inportant is does this ammo function 100% of the time and can I hit what I want to with it. THe 45acp is a man stopper and you don't need TRICK ammo to make it one unlike a 32 or some 38/9MM. 0 -
the 45 is a truck. if you buy a truck, you dont convert it to a corvette, you just buy a corvette. sounds like someone fell for a 'better mouse trap' to me.

What goes around, comes around.
Usta be, the thought was that a big, heavy, slow round had more knockdown power.
Then came the 1970's and the "Super-Vel Revolution" of a lighter (185 gr.), faster (1000+ fps) bullet and that was thought to be the way to go.
In the '90's the fashion swung back to the big (230 gr.) fat hollowpoint.
Now somebody has reinvented "small & fast" again.
Hell, pretty soon somebody'll invent a plastic pistol and claim that that works! [:D]0 -
Target practice is expensive, but how much is your life worth. NO load becomes my self defensive load until I have put at least 150-200 though the firearm I intend to use. I realize this may be overkill, but by doing this, I know the accuracy of the load and if it will function with my firearm.....JMHO...
