Shipping Firearm Parts to Other Countries
I have come to own some extra parts and decided to sell them recently. One person won an auction in which I was selling a H&K manufactured MP-5 barrel. When I received his shipping address, I found out that he lives in Germany. He says that I can ship it to him, but when I calculated the shipping and checked for prohibited items, Germany does not allow weapon parts. Here is that information: http://ircalc.usps.gov/prohibitions/Germany.htm Am I legally able to send him this barrel, which sold for around $200, without a license if it is just a personal transaction?[?]

You must get an Export Permit from the US Dept of State. Mark C. can give you more information about it.
I never bothered checking the State Dept's Munitions List to see what is on it; exporting is too risky (phoney bank check schemes), & too much trouble. I mean, if you have 1,000 barrels to sell, that's one thing, but just 1? Life's too short. I always make my auctions "US only".

That is what I have come to understand. I was just wanting to have some proof that I can show the buyer in order for him to understand why I can't ship the item. Thank you for your response. If anyone else has any comments, I would appreciate them. 0 -
Send him this link & let him see for himself.
