Sig 226
I have a .40 cal S&W Sig 226. I have fired about 3000 rounds through it. I reload my bullets. I fire 180 gr JHP or FMJ. I load 4.3 or 4.4 grains powder. When I first got this pistol the slide would lock back when the mag went empty. It does not do that now. It does the same thing with all 5 mags that I use. I can insert a empty mag, pull the slide back and it will stay. If I am firing loaded mag it will not stay back. That is the only problem I have, other than that, it is a very good pistol.

I just bought a Sig 226 from a local gun shop. It looks to be in good shape. How much does Sig charge for a once over...or, is there a better way to have it assessed and tweaked if necessary? 0 -
What kind of powder are you using? It sounds like it is too light a load. Will it work with new commercial ammo? 0 -
I will try some commercial ammo and will also load some heavier reloads. I will let you know what happens.
