.45 Long Colt/.410 Shotgun?

Many years ago---mid-70's if I remember---a friend had a Ruger Blackhawk chambered for the .45 Long Colt. He also had a cylinder that was cut to accept a shortened .410 shotgun shell. For the modified shotgun shells, he had one of those Lee Loaders---you know, the ones where you use a plastic mallet, and a scoop to measure your powder. The Lee Loader had a die that you used to cut down once-fired .410 shells, and it was also used to fold the new 6-point crimp.

I got to shoot it a couple of times, and it actually worked well at short distances. The most fun was walking through the scrub-brush and snapshooting quail with it. Anything past 20 feet, though, was usually pretty safe.

Are these still around? Are they even legal to own---I would think a person would run into problems with the BATFE for a short-barreled shotgun.
