30.06 - 1958 - Value?

It has '1958' stamped on the barrell, but no brand. A friend told me it has been 'sporterized'? It has a mauser bolt action and a very nice older Redfield 2-7x scope.
Any ideas on what this rifle may be worth? It is in very nice condition.

  I haven't a clue. Even photos are unlikely to help if it has no markings. And, dozens (hundreds?) of bolt actions are Mauser style.
  
  The problem with "sporters" is that they are only as good as the skill of the person doing the sporterizing. I wouldn't even fire it without first having it inspected by a gunsmith to be sure that it is safe. If I were buying it, I would subtract that expense from the $150-200 that this type rifle typically sells for.
