trading for a model 72.are they any good and what is the gun worth?

I don't know much about their different models,...but I have been told by the gunsmith that they are all very true and smooth actions and good factory barrels. I have recently put together a rig on a sako l691 action and can say so far,..is is a great action and the smith did NO truing work right out of the box. A sako trade will be a good one as long as it is in good condition and you are not trading away something of greater value.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

Are you sure it's a model 72? Could it be a model 75?
Other then the 75 series, most I've seen and owned have a name such as Finnbear, Finnfire, Forester, Hunter, Etc. You learn something new on this site everyday, so I'll follow your post with interest about a model 72. I own several older models, and all have been great shooters with "very" smooth action. You'll like it.0 -

I really don't know much about Sako models, My dad had a Sako .222 that my brother got. I loved it. I had to make a choice and took the model 61 winchester in 22 magnum. This is the only experiance that I've had with a Sako. But if they are all built like dads, then I have to say that they rank amoung the finest rifles ever made. That puppy is so sweet.
