The 19 dosen't like a steady diet of .357 loads and was not designed for the them being a K Frame.

Those +P are going to shorten the life of the 19.
I shoot +P .38 Spl in mine and for target light loads of .357 cases with .357 loads
148 gr 3.0 to 3.2 gr of bulleye.

Before I started shooting a steady diet of +P loads in the K framed Model 19, I would talk to S&W about it. The 19 was designed to be a carry revolver for policemen. Personally if it was my revolver I would use regular .357 loads in it and if I had to shoot +P loads I would use that as an excuse to buy an N frame such as the model 27 or 627, or at least the new L frame 686. When I start shooting heavy magnum loads I want a little weight to help absorb some recoil. That's the reason most of my revolvers are big N frames.
