A preban Taurus PT99? Huh? Didn't know there was a difference in pre 1994 PT99's and post 1994 PT99's except the magazines capacity. Of which the 1994 ban has been lifted so it makes no difference today.

In my neck of the woods, a Taurus PT99, unfired and in the box with factory magazines goes for about $430-$475.

Thanks. Yes the only difference is the mags and the non decocker safety. This guy will take no less the $500 and it only has one 15 round mag.. He says thats all that it came with. To much?? I thought so too. I offered $400 and he said no

For common guns such as this, I usually do a Gunbroker Smart Search on completed auctions. In this case, I saw few PT99's that actually sold; apparently there is not a lot of demand for them. I suspect that you could buy one at auction in the $300-350 range. Yes, I know that they SHOULD be worth more, but the market is what it is.

I might offer $425 but not a cent more. $500 is too steep for my area. The gunshop I visited yesterday was selling them for around $450 new with an extra mag and used for about $335.

If I were you I'd just hit up a local gun shop and if they don't have any in stock find out what they would charge you to order you one in.

Yes I already did. Local shop wanted $420 for a new one. Thing is I hear the older non decocker ones have better trigger.. AND the old ones have a polished stainless as compared to the new satin stainless look. I like the polished look better..:) oh well.

I agree, $500 is too much. I have an early Taurus that is polished stainless, but it has decocker also. I put mother-of-pearl type grips on it, sure does look good. If the factory mag is the polished stainless, it is hard to find. These are worth about $50 in my experience. I also own an earlier Taurus without decocker and have noticed no difference in the triggers between the two models. I would suggest watching the auctions till a polished stainless with decocker shows up. You should probably be able to get one for in the $350 range. These are great nines, underrated in my opinion, and in all the thousands of rounds I've put through each, I have had no failures. I also prefer the early ones, before they started putting the large lettering on the slides. But thats just me.

I have owned two over the years and they are fine fine weapons. I sold one and still have one. That being said I would never go higher than 375.00 for a PT99af. They are just not worth it.
