    Has anyone shot the o/u by spartan? I was thinking about getting one but I have not heard much about them.

    The Spartans are the same as the old EAA Baikal side by side guns only now they make them exclusive for Remington. They are a good gun for the money from what I have seen. Fit and finish is good, although domestic guns are usually quite a bit fancier with engraving and other aesthetic that dont affect the performance. They work well, look dlean and simple, and make a good hunting gun.

    Spartan is the Baikal series of shotguns now being marketed by Remington, with the blessing of EAA Corp. the original importer of these shotguns...and they are SxS and O/U models available. Saw one in Academy Sports the other day.

    They are not the fanciest out there, but they are good shooters, and better than most for the money.

    They aren't the best looking shotgun. But function quite well. Plus by Remington picking up the lable you can get it serviced from REMINGTON now. Not a bad gun for the money...we're talkin under $500.
