German M 98 Rifle
I have a German Mod. 98 rifle that my Garnd father said was brought back from the War. There are no import marks that I can find But there are German marking all over the rifle. the only thing that is wrong with the gun is the Stock looks like some cut through the wood up by the Baynot Lug 6" down from the Lug it is cut all the way through the to the Barrel Each piece of wood has a hole drilled in it looks like a pin would hold this together. Can anyone give me some Information on this old gun and does it have any value?

The cut was probably made so that the stock would fit into a duffel bag.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
Before we can help you we need to know what all the markings are on the rifle. If you could post quality close up photos it would be even better. 0
