Springfield 1903's
I was wondering where I might find a springfield 1903 (clone or otherwise) of any make or model. I also would like to know the price range on it. The same also goes for the M1 Carbine

Mark gave you good advice. Steer clear of the national ordnance 03 remakes-I have handled 2 a the range in the 70's and I for one considered them poorly fitted and sloppy workmanship seemed to be the norm. I'm not really familiar with the Carbine clones so I pass comment on them. If you want an o3 the best deals available are through the CMP. At least they will be safe to shoot and that not a sure thing with the built up 03's I have seen. 0 -
Rebuilt M1 carbines can be found at garage sales, shows, gun shops, pawn shops, & online auctions. Prices tend to be in the $400-1,000 range. Unfortunately for the novice, most of those in the upper end of the range are, in fact, guns that are only worth $300-500. I only run across a nice carbine, fairly priced, about once a year, & I'm out there looking.
All I can suggest is that you buy a couple of books, especially Craig Riesch's "US M1 Carbines Wartime Production". Look at every carbine you see, talk to every collector you run across, & learn as much as you can. It may also help if you have a digital camera & can get the opinions of others before you buy. Keep looking, & you will eventually get lucky.
