Burris lighted reticle any good?
I was at a gun shop the other day and looked a nice used browning BLR in 358 winchester[:p] and it had a Burris rifle scope with a lighted reticle (was a previous bear over bait rifle) and I LOVED the scope I was just wondering how reliable this scope design was Before I order one, The sales person considered the lighted reticle a "Gimmic" and not worth the extra $, Your experience?

That salesperson is obviously an inexperienced hunter. I have 5 illuminated reticles and can say with conviction that they have placed a LOT of meat in the freezer that would not have been possible otherwise.
I have the e-dot on my burris,..and it is a superb scope both day and night.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

I'll bet all the folks in European countrys don't think lighted reticules are a gimmick.
I have 6 scopes with lighted reticules in them and I don't think they are a gimmick either.

Burris has some pretty good optics. The lighted reticle is an option many people use for low light hunting conditions. They are especially outstanding when you are over a calving field at dusk and the coyotes think because the light is low they can't be seen....end of story for him.
Look for them on GB and make a price comparison. If the price is right buy it.
