remington model 8 disassembly
I have the above mentioned rifle. I'm not sure what the proper name is but the round notched piece at the end of the tube the barrel resides in looks like someone took a chisel to it. I need to replace it, my friend has the replacement part. Anyone have any idea if it loosens by turning counter clockwise or is it reversed?

Nope, it's a standard thread and comes out counter clockwise. Be careful when you're taking it out, there's an 8 inch long spring behind it and it's under some pressure! Hope this helps... 0
