Dreyse???
My father has collected guns from all over the world during his duty as a UDT, the predessor to the SEALS. We have been going through all his guns, to get insurance and just to list his collection. There are several that we haven't been able to find a history or get an accurate year of production or if it is a collector's item. So, i'm going to ask the experts here for help. The gun is a 32 cal semiautomatic pistol with 8 shots in the clip. On the barrel, it has a N with a crown, Is that a Nitro Proof mark? Also stamped on the gun is Dreyse Rheinische Metallwaaren und Maschinenfatrik ABT. Sommerda. Also, it is stamped 94213, it might be the serial number.
It has no rust on it and he still uses it to this day. I'm interested in the history of this gun, the possible year it was made and if it is worth anything. Can anyone help?

I believe this link refers to the pistol your inquiring about.

I owned one many years ago. They were not uncommon at that time. Well made but kind of "clunky". Don't believe there would be a lot of collectors interest/value to them, unless it was a exceptional specimen of some kind, i.e. W W 1 military markings etc.
