Glock 27 Compact vs Walther P99 .40 compact
Greetings! Curious as to experiences with either the Glock 27 or Walther P99 .40 Compact.

My Glock 27 is one of the last guns I would ever get rid of. It's combination of size V. firepower is impressive!
The thing is super tough and I have never had a misfire though I have shot it a great deal. I carry it regularly in the standard Glock belt slide holster and it conceals nicely. I have Trijicon NS on mine to complete the package.
I did put a Pearce grip extenders (the first generation ones) on the magazines and this works very well for me. My G27 is much more accurate than it really has a right to be for such a small package.
I truly love my 27. It really is a fistfull of fury! Especially with the CorBon 135gr JHP's. Those are one hot little number!
It's ability to use G23/G22/G35 mags is also very neat and useful.

Glock 27 hands down. What ever you do don't sale it. You can use a a full size mag and a magazine attachment(found at my local police equipment supplier) to make a full size pistol grip. I had this set up as a primary magazine with two other mags with pinky extensions. Also had an original magazine for the ultimate in small. 0 -
I put several rounds through my buddy's Glock 27 this past weekend. I was very surprised at the accuracy of this sub-combat gun. The gun handle great and ran like a champ. I will have one as soon as I get thru Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!! 0 -
I down own a Glock Model 27 but I do have a G19. Great guns, I have fired the Walther P99, didn't care for the it much. Glocks have a good service record around the world, go with the 27. 0 -

About 8 yrs ago, I bought a new Glock 27. Opened the box, loaded it, and shot 3" groups at 25yds and I was several years out of practice at the time. I absolutely loved the pistol. The interchangeable mags are a big plus to the gun. The only chambering problems I experienced was when using a 15rd mag, and that seemed to depend on my grip. Guess I was slightly changing the feed angle depending on how I held it. Unfortunately, I was releived of that pistol in 2000. Long story, would rather not go into it.
Anyway, last year I bought a P99 in .40 and also love it. It has some features , decocking, chamber loaded indicator, etc, that I really like that aren't on the Glock. I had a chance to buy a Glock22 this spring at a great price and I did. I can't explain why, but the 22 didn't feel anything like the 27. Obviously, it's bigger, etc, but all I can say is I didn't like the 22 and have since gotten rid of it.
The 27 is smaller than the P99, so for conceal carry, it's a better choice. Other than that, go to a range and fire both and go with whichever feels better to you. You won't go wrong with either pistol, that's a given.
