What year was this. And why dose this bring a price premium on these Ruger guns. Thanks For Your Time!!!

    You will have to clarify, Ruger has not been in business for 200 Years.

    The year was 1976... the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independance.

    I'm not sure that they bring much of a premium..

    New in box 200th year guns have strong following and do bring more.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    I agree with duckhunter if they are NIB , if not them they are just shooters , a used Ruger pre -warning will bring more than a used 200th year gun all things being equal

    These are also called "Liberty" Rugers because they are inscribed: "Made in the 200th year of American Liberty." That would seem to be a good clue as to the year of manufacture if one knows much about American history.

    Unless badly worn, Liberty Rugers are far from valued "just as shooters." The less common the model, the more value the inscription adds. Considering that Liberty Rugers were made for one year only, whereas there were many years of Pre-Warning Rugers, the Liberty Rugers will be worth more, if they are not already.
