.22 Diamond Back Colt

My grandfather has a .22 Diamond Back Colt in new condition. What is the cheapest way to find out how much the gun is worth. Also what is the best no hassle way to sell it?

    Best way to sell it is probably here on Gunbroker.

    Browse around and see what other people are selling Diamondback .22's for.

    Is it positively immaculate, excellent 100% condition with the original box and matching serial number?

    Is it a four or six inch barrel? Is it blue or nickel?

    There were fewer .22's made than .38SP and the .22's are sometimes a little higher priced. However, many on this forum will agree that people are asking way more for the Colts than what they are actually worth (opinion).

    Guns are rated by percentage. If it has any blemishes, scratches, blueing wear, etc., it would rate lower.

    Check the serial number with this web site to see what year it was manufactured: http://proofhouse.com/colt/

    This web site only goes up through 1978 and I think the Diamondbacks were last produced in 1986, so you might want to call Colt and get the mfg date.

    Also, the best "no hassle" way to sell it is for way less than what it is worth at your local gun/FFL dealer.

    Remember, all handguns must be shipped interstate from one FFL to another. This means you will have to pay your local FFL dealer to ship it for you.

    It is 100% immaculate, however we do not have the original box it has been stored for years in a sheep skin pouch. It has a 6" barrel and is blue. No blemishes whatsoever.

    this note is to manderson. I cant figure out why people like you spread misinformation. Check your gun laws about selling and shipping handguns and then appologize for your ignorance. Or better yet just shut up if you dont know what you are talking about.
