model number on SW wheelgun
my girlfriends dad has a nice .44mag revolver, it is stainless steel and marked Smith and Wesson, i cant find any model number on it though, where is it usually? or do i use some other method to determine the model number?

Open the cylinder and look in the crane area. The model and serial numbers should be there.
The serial number will likely also be on the butt under the grips. If stainless it should be a model 629.

This is a Model 60, but your Model number will be in the same place. Probably 629-number.0
