I have seen quite a few sellers of FAL type rifle kits on the auction...

What are the new rules on the receivers?

How difficult are they to find?

Who is the best maker (Austrian kits are for sale)

If I wanted to build one of these what laws would I have to follow when setting it up?

Any advice please!

    Well no ones biting yet, here. http://www.falfiles.com/ and click on" FAL Files Message Board" in the red line above the picture of the fal. That will get you to a bunch of Fal guys.

    I have a 16" Carbine Imbel (below) from them that I paid $600 for.

    I believe their standard length FAL goes for $550.

    I had a buddy that bought a no-name build FAL at a gun show, had nothing but problems. The seller did finally make it right after 3 months of tinkering with it.

    I think DSA is putting together some really nice rifles these days, and I know a few guys that work for them these days as I am right down the road from Barrington. Of all the various kits/manufacturers etc.. I have heard discussed and seen shot at the range in the last few months, the DSA guns are recieving by far the fewest complaints.

    What sort of problems do the other than DSA rifles produce??

    How accurate are these FAL things? I often see them with scopes...

    I have also seen mini-14's with scopes, and I think their accuracy is... (let's say not good)

    I have an scoped Imbel on Imbel that I did myself. It will shoot 2MOA or less all day with good surplus ammo.

    From Parts kit and then receiver?

    I found a parts kit that I liked, bought a receiver and 7 US made compliance parts to get arround the 89 bush ban (against importation of evil foreign rifles). I screwed the whole thing together, bought the correct sized locking shoulder and test fired it.

    Anyone know what the model/nomenclature for the H&K Carbine style FAL is??

    I might look into getting it as a collector's item.

    I know they are certainly more expensive...

    How common are they?

    You're looking for a G-3.
    Before you trash the Mini; shoot an FAL/CETME/G-3/LAR and you'll probably miss by the same amount.
