CZ452 VARMINT 22 RIFLE
I was looking for a accurate 22 rifle.first pick was a kimber, but they are $900.00. secound the thompson and center benchmark 22,its around $420.00.does anyone know about the cz452 varmint 22 rifle.its around $350.00 i havent heard anything about them.the guy at the sporting goods store says they are very accurate and can stay up with the kimber.and more accurate than the thompson,because it is a bolt action.are they good guns. thanks

I have had several years experience with the CZ 452s in various configurations and calibers and have never had one that didn't shoot extremely well. I think they are about the best buy for the money that is available today. Some of the Marlins shoot very well also and are a bit less money, but somewhat less appealing, looks wise. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Kimbers are the most over rated, over priced, under performing 22s I have ever seen. I have no experience with the TC, so I can't comment on it. I believe you would be very satisfied withthe CZ. I know I am with the 5 I own. 0 -

I have a CZ 452 Lux and an American. Like everyone else says, they are the best buy for the money in fit, finish, and accuracy. I also agree with the opinions concerning the current crop of Kimber's that are on the market. If you can find a "Kimber of OREGON," buy it. They are very good. 0 -
It's one of the best bargains in the rimfire rifle world...really amazing what you get for the price. Their centerfire rifles are great too. Can't get my dad to shut up about them, ever since he got a couple. [:D] 0 -
A little late on this post maybe, but my $199.00 CZ452 ZKM 2E (birched stocked safari looking thing) shoots 1" ten shot groups @ 100 yds (non-windy days of course) with Federal Match ammo. It also shoots any other variety just about as well. I've had most people think it was a big rifle until they did a double take on the action and saw it is just too short. I think it is the best buy out there bar none right now. It has an adjustable trigger too. Marlins don't. And after owning one 882SS in WMR I wouldn't go right out and get one. One other .22 you may be interested in and I have only shot one once, is a Savage Mark II. I liked it and every one I talked to seems to like theirs more than I liked my Marlin. Good Luck

In the used gun market, look for a Remington bolt action in the 580 family. These are very accurate and usually sell for $150 or so. The bolt has several lugs and locks up tight. Same bolt as used on some of their target rifles. They are hard to beat for the money. Sold as single shots or repeaters. 0 -
I have about 10 CZ products from 45 ACP auto to full stocked CZ 452 22 mag and full stocked 550 in 9.3 Mauser - I think they make a great product. My CZ 452 Target in 17 HMR is the one of most accurate rifles I own. I have Rem 40Xs, some Savages and Rem 700 target models & the CZ 452 more than holds its own.
I know 22lr is the convetional wisdom rimfire target round, but at 100 yds for paper targets I think the 17HMR is better. Smaller groups and better trajectory. The ammo is more expensive - about $9.50 at the gun shows, $11.00 at most stores, but I'd say it's worth it.0
