I don't shoot a 25-06, but I do unload quite a few through a 257 Ackley, which gives ballistics in the 25-06 ballpark. I find for light game- Coyotes and smaller that the 75 gr Sierra shoots about the best in my rifles. they come apart as they're supposed to do with any kind of hit.

I load my 25-06 with 100g Remington soft points. I use IMR4831 and get almost 3250fps. With my Burris 3x9x40 balistic plex I have no problems reaching out 300yds with only a mild vertical offset. I use the Rem bullets because they are inexpensive in bulk and accurate enough for 300yd targets and cyotes. For deer I go for a 115g Nostler or 120g Speer.

Check out the Sierra 90 gr HP, or the Hornady 87 gr SP.
The 100gr Ballistic Tip works well if you like to do a lot of sewing.
These all work very good in my 25/284.............

Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

THANKS everybody for your help. Mrbruce, I'm loading for a 25-284 so your personel loads would be a great help. I didnt think anybody would have one of these. I've noticed that the 25-284 seems to have about the same loads as the 25-06 less one grain of powder. I was going to use a 25-06 starting load less one grain. I have this in one of my Speer loading manuals. Is there a loading manual that you use that you think is superior? Thanks again everybody!
