IMPORTED CAP AND BALL REVOLVERS ?
I am wondering how the gun makers can make such nice and affordable cap and ball revolvers that are imported from Italy?--- I know that most,if not all use cast frames. I presently own 3 and are very happy with them.They seem well made.Machine work looks good and well fitted.Two have brass frames and one has a steel frame.Two of them are 1851 Colt Navy clones and one 1858 Remington New Army. Best of all,low priced.It would be nice to have a couple in 22 rimfire.I only shoot light loads (20 grains) in them,so should last me a long time.Anybody else have a opinion on them ?

.36 and love it. 20 gr of Pyrodex P and a .375 round ball with no recoil. The ladies seem to love it as well[:D]

I have a pair of them 1858 Remington New Army models and couldn't be happier with them.
Now that they make 30 gr pellets for them, you can load faster and without the mess of loose BP.

I converted a .36 Remington Navy repro and 1851 Colt Navy repro to .22 RF which made two very nice pieces. I like the Colt a little better than the Rem. Both conversions with the whole nine yards: loading gate, ejector rod, sights, etc.

Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop both have good selections of cap and ball revolvers, and they have the accessories. 0 -
Just my .02, I have two Pietta revolvers, both .44 cal, an 1858 Remington repro& a colt Navy repro. I cant keep springs in them. They break about as fast as I replace them. The Remington breaks the spring behing the hand that rotates the cylinder, while the
colt repro breaks the spring for the trigger and cylinder stop. So far, Cabelas has replaced them free, but I am tired of having to work on them an hour to shoot for 30 minutes. I am about to make a case for them and hang them on a wall. Maybe I'll try a Ruger repro next time.

There is a source for high quality aftermarket springs for these Italian guns.
I will try to find this company and post it here.
I too have broken a few springs. They were replaced for free, and the replacements have held up.
The one weak part of the Italian guns is cheapo springs.0
